46 years ago today, was the first celebration of Earth Day. I’ll never forget it. I was in the sixth grade and Brewster Middle School celebrated the day by having all students clean up the school grounds.

While outside cleaning the grounds, I was standing next to a classmate, John Asmodeo.  He had a bag of trash over his shoulder and he quickly turned around.  The bag of trash hit me in the head.  A piece of glass that was in the bag cut my right ear. It required 5 stitches.

Every Earth Day, this is what comes to mind.  John I hope you’re doing well.
